A simple list of your accounts and wishes, so someone you trust knows where things are. It takes about 20 minutes, and you can add to it over time.

Don’t write passwords on this list. Note where they’re kept instead, such as a password manager or a sealed envelope with your will.

Your phone and devices

Where your phone, computer and tablet are kept, and where the passcodes can be found
Whether you use a password manager, and how someone you trust could get into it

Email and cloud accounts

Your main email address(es)
Apple, Google or Microsoft account, and whether you’ve set up a Legacy Contact or Inactive Account Manager
Where your photos and important files are stored

Money

Banks, credit cards and super funds (names only, not account numbers)
PayPal, Afterpay or other payment accounts
Regular payments and direct debits

Household and services

Phone and internet provider
Electricity, gas, water and insurance
Subscriptions and memberships

Social media and online life

Which profiles you have, and whether you’d like each kept as a memorial or closed
Anything else online that matters to you, such as a website, blog or online group

Your wishes and people

Who you’d like to look after your online accounts
Where your will, and your advance care directive if you have one, are kept
Anything you’d like saved, shared or deleted
